Learning to Read the Qur’an with Confidence & Love

A fun and nurturing beginner programme designed specially for children aged 7–10 years who are starting their Qur’an reading journey. Whether they are just beginning to learn Arabic letters or need structured guidance to build confidence, this course supports children step-by-step — from recognising letters to reading short verses from the Qur’an.

Through engaging activities, patient guidance, and a gentle reading approach, students will develop correct pronunciation, steady reading flow, and proper adab (manners) when reciting the Qur’an. Our goal is to build not only skills, but also a positive, lifelong connection with the Qur’an.

 

 



Programme Overview

Stage 1 – Arabic Alphabet Foundations (Iqra’ 1–2)

  • Focus: Recognising letters & producing correct sounds
  • Identify and pronounce all Arabic letters correctly
  • Learn the basic vowel sounds (fatḥah, kasrah, ḍammah)
  • Read simple two- and three-letter words
  • Practise correct makhraj (pronunciation) through listening and repetition
  • Begin short daily recitations such as Bismillah and Al-Fātiḥah

 

Stage 2 – Reading Fluency (Iqra’ 3–4)

Focus: Reading joined letters & building flow

  • Join letters smoothly to form complete words
  • Read short sentences with teacher support
  • Recognise and apply sukun, tanwīn, shaddah, and simple elongations (madd)
  • Practise short surahs from Juz ‘Amma (Al-Ikhlāṣ, Al-Falaq, An-Nās)
  • Group reading practice to strengthen rhythm and confidence

 

Stage 3 – Advanced Reading & Tajweed Awareness (Iqra’ 5–6)

Focus: Preparing for full Qur’an reading

  • Read longer verses and paragraphs with accuracy
  • Apply correct pronunciation through imitation (ghunnah, qalqalah, madd)
  • Develop understanding of stop marks (waqf) and reading pauses
  • Build fluency through guided reading of selected Juz ‘Amma surahs
  • Practise reading aloud confidently with teacher feedback
